Designing a Flourishing Museum
The Pen Museum in Birmingham opens its new exhibition this summer and the team are working hard to complete the concept design for the new displays. Interpretation Manager Matt Arnold has been working closely with the volunteers to develop the stories and 3D Designer Harriet Parsons has been familiarising herself with the collection which contains over 5,000 objects! Part of Harriet’s role will be to measure all of the artefacts which will be on display in order to design accurate mounts and cases to ensure they are carefully preserved.
The team also took a trip this week to the Manuscript Pen Company to see the modern pen-making process in action.
With plenty of inspirational stories, objects and modern-day pen-making techniques, the design ideas continue to flourish!
