First stop - Cleveland!
Nichola, Harriet and the Derby Silk Mill team have started their research road trip in America. The group are visiting a number of key museums and heritage sites this week as part of the research and development phase of the Museum of Making project at Derby Silk Mill.
The trip has started with no less than three site visits around some of Cleveland's iconic sites. At the Museum of Natural History, the team visited a fascinating exhibition about the Power of Poison. An inspirational meeting at the Cleveland Museum of Art followed, with the curators kindly sharing their experience and knowledge about the use of digital technology to give visitors greater access to artefact collections.
The group ended the day at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for a toe-tapping, dancing filled afternoon, proclaiming it to be 'one of the best feel-good museums' they've ever been to!
That’s a round-up on Monday… we can’t wait to hear all about today as they go back to experience the Museum of Art as visitors and then drive to Pittsburg to visit the Carnegie Science Center.
