The Creative Core’s design for Walmer Castle uses light-touch interpretation to highlight key objects and stories throughout the rooms via interactives and engagement opportunities.
Intrinsically linked to the Duke of Wellington, new interpretation was required to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo and present the story of this decisive and iconic event to a range of audiences.
Upstairs, low-key yet beautiful panels and children’s activity points expand on the content of the rooms and key artefacts contained within. There is plenty for children to engage with here and a low-tech interactive trail encourages playful exploration.
The Creative Core also designed a range of period furniture and display pieces, such as the leather ottoman and replica bust of the Duke of Wellington.
