The Creative Core were tasked with creating an exhibition for the listed gateway building at the start of the visitor experience. Our brief was to tell the story of the castle giving visitors context before they see the rest of the site.
The exhibition celebrates the complex history of Leeds Castle, populated with Kings and Queens, statesmen and leaders, powerful women and socialites.
Rather than a ‘books on walls’ approach to interpretive history, The Creative Core designed a living space which interacts playfully with the visitor, using beautiful artefacts coupled with cutting edge technology to set the scene and raise expectation in preparation for the ‘loveliest castle in the world...’.
Key objects on display include Lady Bailies sequin gown from 1950 and a sword, on loan from the Royal Armouries, believed to have been captured from European knights during the 14th Century
